Buying and Selling Questions

How do I choose between Princess flybridge, sportbridge and sports yachts?

Choose a Princess layout by deciding where you want to spend time aboard and how you will move between the helm, cockpit and cabins. Flybridge, sportbridge and sports yacht configurations offer different arrangements of those spaces. Compare the exact model and year, then walk through it with your regular passengers rather than choosing from an exterior photograph alone.

What it depends on

Use the range name as a starting point

Princess describes its F Class as flybridge yachts, S Class as sportbridge yachts and V Class as sports yachts in its range overview. These labels help organize a search; they do not tell you every detail of an older boat's deck plan, engines or equipment.

On each candidate, locate the helm positions, outdoor seating, galley and cabin entrances. Ask for the original layout drawing for that model and year, plus an explanation of any changes made since delivery.

Walk through a normal cruising day

  • Check boarding, steps and handholds with your passengers' mobility in mind.
  • Compare access between the helm and the places guests will gather.
  • Look at shade, weather protection and seating in the areas you actually intend to use.
  • Check cabin privacy, berth access and where overnight bags can be stored.
  • Confirm the yacht's dimensions and clearance against your intended berth and route.

A second outdoor gathering area may be valuable to one owner, while another prefers fewer changes of level. Assess these tradeoffs in person. During a sea trial, record the installed engines, loading and conditions; a published figure for another yacht is not a promise about the boat you are viewing.

How we help

Silver King Yachts' Princess page is a starting point for your search. Send us your preferred layout, usual guest numbers and whether your trips are mainly day outings or overnight cruises.

We can discuss the details available for a particular listing and the questions to resolve at a viewing. Once the layout fits, use an independent survey and sea trial to evaluate the actual yacht.

Common questions

Do all Princess yachts in a class have the same layout?

No. Layouts and equipment vary by model, year and individual boat. Confirm the deck plan and installed equipment for the yacht being offered.

Should I choose by cabin count alone?

No. Check berth access, privacy, headroom, storage and how the cabins will work for your usual guests. A count does not describe how usable the accommodation is for you.

Can a model photograph show equipment absent from a listing?

Yes. A manufacturer photograph may show a different year or optional equipment. Use current listing photographs and the written specification to establish what is included.
