Buying and Selling Questions

How do I arrange a Freeman sea trial, and what should I compare?

To arrange a Freeman sea trial, contact Silver King Yachts with the model or listing you are considering, your location and your purchase plans. The broker can discuss availability and the seller’s requirements. Use the appointment to evaluate the actual boat and your intended use; a sea trial is not a guarantee of performance in every condition.

What it depends on

Before making travel plans, confirm which boat will be available, where it is kept, who will operate it and what the appointment includes. Ask whether this is an introductory demonstration or part of a purchase inspection. Those are different arrangements, and access depends on the boat and seller.

Bring a short comparison list

Look at visibility from the helm, access around the console, seating you will actually use and where your gear will go. Discuss docking arrangements and the equipment you want demonstrated. Record the engine setup, crew and fuel load, weather and water conditions alongside your impressions.

If you compare two boats, note those differences rather than treating speed or fuel readings from unlike conditions as a direct comparison. Let the operator determine what can be demonstrated safely. Ask the surveyor or engine technician which inspection tasks require a separate appointment.

How we help

Silver King Yachts’ Freeman team can discuss available boats and help coordinate a viewing or sea trial for qualified buyers. We start with your intended use and the specific model, rather than promising a particular boat or location before checking availability.

Review our used-Freeman checklist before the appointment so the on-water visit follows your wider purchase evaluation.

Common questions

Can I choose the exact Freeman for the trial?

Tell the broker which listing interests you. The actual boat, location and timing must be confirmed with the seller; availability is not guaranteed.

What should I bring?

Bring your questions, the listing specification and notes about your usual crew and trips. Confirm appropriate clothing and any other requirements with the operator.

Will a short trial tell me how the boat handles all weather?

No. It shows the boat in the conditions and loading present that day. Record those conditions and discuss the limits of the comparison.
