McConaghy Boats is proposing the world’s first Hybrid green methonal fuel cell / diesel Explorer super yacht.The Explorer will boast a 18 to 20 knots cruising speed with diesel powered and with full green methanol fuel cell /electric propulsion can cruise at 6 to 8 knots.

She will have a range of approximately 5000 NM can be adjusted as per owner’s request.

All house loads would be taken off the green methanol fuel cells so no burning of fossil fuels. These green methanolfuel cell they cycle up and down depending on loads required to save on fuel so more efficient that a traditionalgenerator.

The Explorer would have twin 2500hp diesels and approximately 400 KW of green methanol fuel cells with 8 x 60KW Yasa Electric Flux motors 4 x per side, these would be coupled to main engine via Transfluid PTO couplerswhich shares the same drive chain.

The vessel will have an high end interior with large saloon, master forward, VIP guest cabins in hulls and crew cab-ins. She will also have a water sports store aft plus Gym port and starboard with fold out topside balconies for easykite launching and tender dock.

With the large aft deck with two large cranes for toys storage and once decks are clear of the tender, jets ski’s, IconSports water plane and a BlackFly or whatever toys you wish to have you can setup for deck sports like Pickle Ballor any sport you prefer.
